Sending Love

Hey all – I can imagine that last night's results have been disappointing and you’re all going through a lot right now. The team at Social Currant wanted to reach out and offer some thoughts, support and say that we are here for you.

We encourage you to prioritize your mental health, sanity and community. Do not hesitate to reach out if there’s any way we can support you. Some quick recommendations:

  • Check-In On Each Other: Our communities are what will keep us together. Make sure to check-in on your communities and audiences and take care of one another.

  • Give yourself space: There are a lot of feelings right now – give yourself and everyone space and grace.

  • Get yourself a treat: you deserve it - please take care of yourself.

  • Filter Comments: Now more than ever, the trolls, the haters and everyone else is out there. We encourage you to filter comments, block people and even turn off your social media if you have to. Here’s a quick guide with some sample keywords.

As Amanda Litman in her newsletter put it, “it is okay — good, even — to have been hopeful yesterday, even as we are devastated today. Optimism is never foolish. Working in politics depends on it: To get up and do the work, we have to believe change is possible.”

We appreciate each and every one of you for giving this all you could and for mobilizing your communities. The fight doesn’t stop and we have a lot of work to do – but make sure you take care of yourself.

Sending love,

Team Social Currant
